Lee Sisson’s Premium Balsa crankbaits are made just like they were in the 70’s. Using the same hand-selected balsa, built the same way, and featuring the same unique action that anglers have wanted and used for decades. Ultra thin, ultra strong circuit board lips are used to allow the lures to cut through the water while standing up to the rigors of hard fishing. These lips also allow for quicker action and more depth. Many people believe all balsa is the same, but in fact, there are several grades of balsa wood. Lee Sisson lures are made of the hardest grade of balsa, the premium wood that was used in the great lures of the 70’s.
You will discover that Lee Sisson crankbaits and lures have the lips in the right place, wired in the correct location and each lure has the weight placed perfectly, to help get that just right action.
Some fishermen have come to believe that the brass wire that we used in the 70’s is the reason the lures worked so well. Actually the brass wire indicates that the lure was built back in the 70’s and over the years we have kept many of those design features but have been able to make some real improvements too. Our color patterns and finishes have improved greatly and are now the best available on any crankbait. And special 3D eyes, which give off flashes as the lure moves through the water, have been added, all to add to the attraction of the lures.
